Introducing iF's New President

Welcoming Rich Crandall, veteran iFster in his new role

As the leader of iF’s education practice for the last 6 years, I’ve seen the impact that’s possible when we collaborate closely with our partners on meaningful challenges. As president, I’m looking forward to guiding iFsters and our partners across all areas of our work towards the change we want to make in the world. I’m thrilled and grateful that I get to do this work, and do it alongside such caring, creative, and committed colleagues. I cannot wait to get going in this new role. - Rich Crandall

Intentional Futures announced today that Rich Crandall has been named as the company’s new president. Rich will take the growth of Intentional Futures to a new level, building upon twelve years of groundbreaking innovation with some of the world’s most respected leaders.

The search for a new president was one that involved over a third of all iFsters from across levels, disciplines, and tenure. Though Rich is an internal candidate, iF’s initial net was cast far and wide with processes designed to ensure equity. For more details on our equitable hiring process and how we applied it to recruiting for a new role, please read our most recent DEI update.

After 6 years of leading impactful education projects at Intentional Futures and 15 years experience in the industry, Rich is well prepared to step into the President role. Rich’s team consistently met an annual revenue target of $4 million, and fostered strong connections with clients and industry partner organizations.

Within iF, Rich’s impact is clear. According to Beth Freitas Clark, Director, Learning Session Lead: “Rich brings many strengths to the role of President. One that I think will carry iF a long way is his humble, yet certain, approach to collaboration. When I interviewed with Rich to join the education practice, it was clear to me that he is a collaborator who prioritizes the desires of the team over any preference or agenda of his own. That is one of the primary reasons that our practice has become the powerhouse that it is today. I think everyone feels comfortable speaking their truth and trusts that they will be heard and represented in decision-making.”

Rich dreams big, feels deeply, thinks sharply and gets stuff done. I can't imagine a better partner as we seek to grow iF and our positive impact on the world. - Michael Dix

Before working at Intentional Futures, Rich led the K-12 Lab initiative and co-taught courses at The Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (“the d.school”) at Stanford University, and worked with education entrepreneurs at NewSchools Venture Fund. Rich received a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from Colgate University and a Master of Business Administration at Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

As Intentional Futures looks to the future, the organization is excited to have Rich at the helm.
